We provide oxygen lines that are designed to meet specific aircraft and customer requirements. Oxygen lines are used as plumbing components in an oxygen system that distributes aviator’s breathing oxygen to the delivery devices throughout the aircraft. Due to numerous layouts required by the many different types of aircraft, oxygen lines must be designed dimensionally to accommodate each aircraft layout. This is generally realized through customer or OEM supplied specifications, however, we can also provide assistance with design documentation upon request. Please visit our Resources page to download our Oxygen Line Design Request form. Simply complete as much of the form as possible and send it to info@utechtt.com.
The type of tubing most commonly used for an oxygen line is made from aluminum alloys in a Size 4 or 5. The advantages of aluminum are low cost, availability, light weight, and physical properties that support low system pressure requirements. One of the most common types of aluminum used for oxygen lines is 5052-O, however, other types may also be used.
Stainless steel tubing can also be used for oxygen lines and is more suitable for higher system pressure applications.
The ends of the oxygen lines can be flared to accommodate a standard hardware application consisting of a B-nut and sleeve, or they can also utilize a flareless fitting application. The flares can either be a single flare or double flare, and is dependent upon customer requirements.
Oxygen lines may have a protective finish consisting of a chemical conversion coating, epoxy primer, polyolefin sleeving, or a combination thereof.
Marking and identification can include oxygen identification tape in accordance with MIL-STD-1247, polyolefin sleeve labels, or other types of identification specific to customer requirements.
All oxygen lines are leak and proof tested to verify performance and structural integrity.
Each oxygen line is cleaned, packaged, and identified for oxygen service.
