Cleaning for oxygen service is a specialized process performed by properly trained and qualified personnel using the appropriate equipment and facilities, and is an essential safety measure required for aircraft oxygen systems.  Presence of contaminants in an oxygen-enriched system could lead to system malfunctions or failures, fires, or explosions.  Components and equipment used in oxygen systems should always be cleaned to industry standards before initial assembly in order to reduce these hazards.

Our first-class cleaning facility enables us to clean oxygen components and equipment to the highest industry standards (please visit our Resources page to download our general clean room checklist).

Components cleaned for oxygen service are individually packaged and identified for oxygen service, however, bulk or custom packaging is also available upon request.  Equipment cleaned for oxygen service may include tubes and hoses that are cleaned using a process specific for this application.

At Utechtt Aero, we can clean and package to multiple industry standards, and listed below are the industry standards that we currently meet:

Assembly jobs begin with the cleaning of all components for oxygen service before any assembly work is performed.  We then produce sub-assemblies or complete assemblies to customer requirements, including small jobs that may not be cost effective for larger companies to pursue.  Finally, we inspect, cap or plug, identify, package, and deliver in accordance with customer requirements.

We provide testing services for the following types of tests:

• Non-Volatile Residue (NVR)
• Particulate
• Proof Pressure
• Leak
• Flow

Availability of testing is dependent upon the requirements and the compatibility of our equipment with the test sample.

We can provide design documentation for those customers that require it, and will work closely with the customer to ensure all of their requirements are met and that the design meets their approval.  

We also provide First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with the SAE AS9102 standard.
